The Chevrolet Astro van is fitted with a 4.3-liter V-6 engine that is capable of delivering 190 horsepower; this is coupled with a four-speed-automatic transmission that integrates the Tow/Haul mode that adjusts shift pattern especially when carrying heavy loads. This van is also equipped with the standard 4-wheel disc brakes. Created from a lone body length, the Astro has a 111.2-inch wheelbase and is measured at 189.8 inches in length.

 

Because the Astro is taller than the average car, optional running boards are available to facilitate easier entry and exit. The standard sliding door is another welcome convenience feature along with the swing-open rear cargo doors. Inside the Astro is a cabin filled with the latest gadgets which are supposed to give extra comfort to the passengers.

 

These interior features include a tilt steering wheel, cruise control, and power windows, locks and mirrors. The Astro is capable of seating eight passengers in its two front bucket seats and two rows of three-place bench seats. The LT has an optional two second-row bucket seats which can replace the bench seats and is capable of seating up to seven people. Cargo area is expandable as the second and third row seats can be removed allowing for a larger luggage space.
